:Project Lite Brite

I created this interactive art piece to hang on my agency wall. It's inspired by the classic seventies Lite Brite toy. I've been working on it for about sixty hours. I wouldn't say I'm a hundred percent satisfied yet, if anybody has any suggestions, I'm all ears.



The main frame is constructed using layered sheets of foam core. The dimensions are 4' x 6', with over 600 painstakingly drilled holes 1" in diameter. The pegs are custom ordered, in four colors all 3.5" in length.





Future refinements I have planned, are individual flaps so that the blacklight bulbs are not visible through the empty holes, then I can switch out the blacklights with regular fluorescent bulbs, making it much brighter.
